Our Story and Mission
Empowering Care, Advocacy, and Nurse-Led Leadership
About Melanie M. Parks
MSN RN CMGT-BC BCPA | Founder & CEO of Lend A Helping Hand Healthcare Advocates

Melanie is the Founder and CEO of Lend A Helping Hand Healthcare -Advocacy & Business Coaching, a nurse-led organization dedicated to both healthcare advocacy and advocacy-focused business coaching. Through her advocacy work, she helps individuals and families navigate the often-overwhelming complexities of the healthcare system. Through her coaching programs, she empowers nurses and aspiring advocates to build ethical, sustainable advocacy businesses rooted in professionalism, compassion, and integrity.

Originally from Massachusetts and now based in Atlanta, Melanie brings over a decade of hands-on experience across nursing, hospice and palliative care, inpatient case management, and health insurance. Melanie earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Chamberlain College of Nursing and has built her career serving aging populations, caregivers, and individuals facing complex healthcare challenges.
Melanie’s mission is twofold: to support patients and families with clarity and confidence, and to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, tools, and guidance needed to build responsible advocacy-based businesses. She is passionate about helping others create meaningful impact—whether at the bedside, within families, or through nurse-led advocacy enterprises.

A Passion for Empowerment
Melanie’s work goes beyond managing healthcare needs — it is rooted in empowering patients, families, and healthcare professionals to feel confident, supported, and informed. Through her advocacy services, she helps individuals navigate complex healthcare systems with clarity and compassion. Through her Advocacy & Business Coaching, she equips nurses and aspiring advocates with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build ethical, sustainable advocacy businesses of their own.

Her dedication is reflected not only in her professional expertise, but also in her commitment to providing meaningful emotional, practical, and strategic support — whether guiding families through care decisions or mentoring clinicians as they step into entrepreneurship.

As Brandon C., a former colleague, shares, “Melanie is the poster child for a strong work ethic driven by passion. Her dedication to excellence is evident in everything she does, always striving for the best possible outcomes for those she serves.” With this same drive, Melanie is committed to making both the healthcare system and the path to nurse-led business ownership more accessible, ethical, and empowering for all she serves.
